Skull from the Woods

My husband and  kids went for a walk in the woods a couple of weeks ago and found this skull.  They brought it home, cleaned/sterilized and sanitized it so the kids can  learn more about it.
Based from what you see  in the NOSE  part,  what do you think this is?

We are not sure if this is from a dog or a deer.  What do you think?

i used to have a couple, but my mom talked me out of them to hang on her horse barn at the farm.

I find a lot of those out here in the desert. They are usually sheep that have been dragged out of the pasture by some wild beast or other!

Excellent capture of the skull in that first shot and the mosaic is really cool. You never know what you are going to walk up upon when strolling thru the woods. genie

Cool find! Can't say what it is though.

I bet it's one of those things that kids learn a lot from because it's so unique. I'm sure they love the experience of finding and cleaning it.

What an interesting find. I guess that would be a deer.

It depends a lot on what the size is! The length of the nose and the teeth should give you answers. Ask at your local museum. Diane
