Bactrian Camel or Camelus Bactrianus

According to the sign at Wildlife Ranch in San Antonio, Texas, this type of Camel is the Bactrian type.   This type of camel can be easily recognized with it's two humps on the back.  The single humped camel is called dromedary camel.

You can read more about this type of camel with my source, wikipedia.

Butterfly oh Butterfly

Now that our butterfly bush and other  plants are blooming, we have some butterflies frequently visiting our backyard/garden.  Below are some  photos I captured.  First stop is with the Black Eyed Susan.
Next stop is  the double-layered poppies.
Butterfly, oh butterfly.. Would you teach me how to fly?
The  motion of your beautiful  wings  makes me want to sing
Butterfly oh butterfly, please don't fly so high.

Antelope

I am not sure if this is an antelope but you be the judge.  I am not very knowledgeable in dentifying animals, all I know is  that they are   amazing and  beautiful.

Photo was taken at  Wildlife Ranch, San Antonio Texas.

Zebra

Zebra is one of the beautiful animals that I really like to watch.  We visited  Wildlife Ranch in San Antonio Texas last June 11 as part of our  early summer vacation.  The ranch is huge.  Visitors can drive around the ranch and see the beautiful  critters.  Visitors  may feed the animals but you are not allowed to go down the vehicle.  It was a fun day for all of us especially for the kids.
Zebra belongs to a horse family.  The three species of Zebra includes plain zebras, Grevy's zebra, and the mountain Zebras.
According to Wikipedia The plains zebra and the mountain zebra belong to the subgenus Hippotigris, but Grévy's zebra is the sole species of subgenus Dolichohippus. The latter resembles an ass, to which it is closely related, while the former two are more horse-like. All three belong to the genus Equus, along with other living equids.
