Kennel Cancellation, Vacation Cancellation, and Evanger's Dog Food

Having pet is  great especially if you have kids.  It's a great bonding experience  for the whole family.  There is a however a downside to having pets especially if you like to go places.  We booked our dogs to the kennel in March, we had their shots done, and we were ready to go.  We were supposed to leave   this Saturday for our vacation,  until our schedule got derailed.  The Kennel called and informed us that the owner is having  a bypass surgery so they are closing down for a while.  My heart goes to them and I hope that the owner will have a safe  surgery.  The dilemma we had is finding an available kennel to take our dogs in and by this time,, it is impossible.  I tried calling friends as well and asked if they could  watch the dog for us with pay but to no avail.  I got frustrated, had a migraine trying to find a place toboard our dogs but  we didn't find one near the area so we didn't have a choice but to cancel our reservations.  I think that the kennel should have  a back up plan just in case  emnergency like that happen.  I understand that  they didn't plan it but  they should have at least someone continuing their business.  As a result of their cancellation, we cancelled our planned vacation as well and  it cost us since we have to pay a fee to cancel it, sigh.

On the lighter note, some of you might have read my post  about my daughter's birthday .  Here are some more photos of her with our dogs, Champ (JRT Black and white) and Bolt (Mixed-breed  miniatue and  doberman pinscher).
When I told the kids that we have to  cancel our  vacation, they got upset but we explained to them what the cisrcumstances are.  The two of them are the ones fighting to keep the dogs.  I am ready to give  the fur babies  for adoption.  I mean, I love dogs  but it is hindering us from doing things.
They would rather lose the vacation time than lose the dogs. I don't really mind not going on a vacation but I know that my husband really wants too. We might do something later on but for now, I hope my migraine would vanish and leave me alone, it sucks! I get sever migraine when I am stressed out!
Onto another thing, let us talk about the Super Premium Evanger's dog  food.  They were voted the best  pet food in 2014 during the Pet Product News International's  Editor's Choice Award.  They sent me a box of Beef Dinner with spinach and kale for our dogs.
Their dog food is moist, meaty, and complete meal that are slow cooked in small batches using USA farm grown, human grade ingredients for superior taste and bioavailability.  (05 of their ingredients  are sourced locally, daily and used within 24 hours.  The remaining 10%    comes directly from American Farmers  or US-sourced suppliers.
Bolt and Champ really love their dog food!  I have  mixed it with  dry dog food and  they clean their bowls every time!  I bet they would love just about any kind of  flavor from their selection.
When you open the  can, it doesn't smell like dog food at all.
Their dog food is available in  different flavors such as Duck and Sweet Potato Chicken Dinner, Lamb and Rice, and the Beef Dinner.
Okay here are Bolt and Champ, wonder what they are thinking?  They want more!
They also sent me two wilderness Wild Chews Knuckle.
I thought for sure that they would dig this right away since they love to chew on chicken bones but I was so surprised that they did not.
For some unknown reason, they just sniffed it and walked away.
I think it has something to do with the fact that we never gave them big bones like this before. They aren't used to chewing on big bones so they are a little intimidated by its size lol.  The bones are still sitting in our back porch
If you are looking for a great dog food, I highly recommend this  just by judging how much our dogs loved it.  It is made in the USA and no ingredients  is from China so  you are guaranteed that it is  safer and healthier for your fur babies. You can buy the above-mentioned products  at Chewy.com.  They carry over 400 brands of the best pet food and stuff.  They offer free shipping for order $49 and up.

My dog would love a knuckle bone. Unfortunately, he has a tiny, small dog mouth.

Wow. I can't believe they walked away from those knuckle bones! I have a friend with a dog who goes absolutely crazy for those things.

You can tell you feed your pets good dog food, their coats are beautiful! Way to do research and know what is best for your pet!

Awww! I would petsit them if you lived close :) It is so nice having neighbors we are good friends with. They always watch our dog if we are away. I will have to look for that brand of dog food. Toby would like it!

Oh no! I hate that you missed your vacation but I have to say those dogs are a pretty cute reason to stay home! Glad you made the best out of it!

I will have to share with my dog loving friends about this food. Mine have been on the same food for years, but this sounds great!

I'm sorry you guys weren't able to go on that vacation! I'm glad your kids get to spend more time with the dogs though.

So sorry you had to cancel your vacation, but it's so sweet to see your kids love their dogs like that. On a happy note, you found a great dog food!

It's admiring how the kids chose their pets instead of vacation. The pets are definitely treated well with their food and chews.

Sorry to hear about your cancelled vacation. You are right, they should have a back up plan, so their clients won't be surprised with the changes or cancellations.

It's nice when you find something your pets like. I would try these too if we had a pooch. :)

That’s really too bad that you had to cancel your vacation. Hopefully you’ll be able to try again in the near future. Your dogs are adorable by the way!

I love the picture of your dog licking his chops. I will have to check out this food, we're always looking for good canned food to add to our dog's menu.

Awe your fur babies are adorable. I am glad the kids were ok with having to cancel your trip. It is terrible that the Kennel didn't have a back up plan.

I love my dogs and I can understand how your kids feel. But I also know it can be hard when they keep you from doing certain things. I also get stress migraines.

That stinks that you had to cancel your vacation but I do hope you are able to plan something just as fun later on. That dog food sounds fabulous, I will have to show my aunt, she has 3 furbabies who love love love to eat.

The dogs are so cute. I am with the kids – the pooches gotta stay! But, yes, that is crazy for the kennel not to have a back-up plan…I never would have even thought that a kennel could just shut down entirely like that…I bet a lot of people were affected.

Sucks you had to cancel those - a lot. I bet something good has a return for those. Cute dog here!

I can't believe that the kennel didn't have some kind of a back up plan and just left people with nothing to do with their pets. Doesn't seem like a good way to do business.

oh, sorry about your cancelled vacation Rose, I actually did three cancellation too, our Christmas vacation, spring vacation, and summer vacation which I planned ahead after Christmas, but not because we have dog, but because we had to help some members of family with health issues, as they say, family first. And pet is family too. so great for your kids to love their pets like that, to be able to sacrifice their vacation for their dogs. I and hubby know we can't have pets because of our lifestyle, we don't think it is fair to our pet if we leave them often for the outdoors as most National Park trails don't allow dogs for both dog and wildlife safety, and most hotels don't allow dogs either. :(

So sorry to hear about your vacation cancellation. But it's ok, there will always be next time - as my hubby likes to say. :)

Dog food ain't cheap no? Some dog owners here say their food are more expensive than human food.

I can relate, my daughter really loves dogs, she even knows how to distinguish them according to their breed.. And just recently one of dogs, Snow just gave birth to 3 cute pupplies, shes so crazy about them, she even cried when her Lola asked for 1 puppy to bring in her house...

Sis Rose,
I LOVED your fur babies. They're both adorable. You are right, going somewhere is not easy when you pets. It is not fun to travel because you are thinking of them too. I never try these pet food yet. I will check them out.

Vacation over pets. That's nice. Wala pa ring tatalo if spending quality time with my dogs.

If it is only convenient to bring along the dogs in all your vacations i'm sure you have already done that. but there are hotels who doesn't allowed pets in the premises and of course you can't always tag along them for i'm sure there might be limitations. Anyways, as long as we know where our pets are safe that's what is a relieve feeling.

I am going to check that website out. I love the idea that everything is made in the USA. No China made.

I do hope you will be able to find other arrangements for your dogs. Instead of getting rid of them. When I run out of options in my home town. I always opt to find a dog friendly hotel or vacation spots. That way i do not have to worry about leaving my dogs behind,
