Cattle Industry

Everyone in the cattle industry knows that working with these animals is no piece of cake, especially if your into buying and selling livestock. Weight is one of the most important factors when it comes to livestock negotiations. It all comes down to how much the animal weighs. Generally speaking the more weight, the more money. But determining this weight while at a livestock show, or out on the range can be difficult, which sometimes results in a ‘guesstimate’ negotiation. This can result in a loss.

Livestock scales are not just handy when your negotiating a price but they also help you determine how healthy your animals are. Healthier animals sit at a specific weight. So a scale helps you determine when you need to add feed and when you need to reduce that amount. There is no question that a livestock scale is an essential element to any rancher or farmer’s set of tools.

I really admire farmers and ranchers. I wish I could do what they do.

We used to own a scale like that when we are still dealing with pork and beef meat.
