When I was growing up, we lived in a farm where we raise chicken and pigs. We usually have brown eggs in our kitchen. I remember my parents used to make scrambled egg every morning for our breakfast. Anyhow, we bought a tray of brown eggs from the store, it was a little higher in price than the regular eggs but we wanted to try it to see what's the difference. Honestly, I can't tell the difference between brown eggs and regular eggs rather than the color of the shell. I don't have the time to google it so if you know something, you can share it here.

This morning I noticed 2 beautiful brown eggs in our henhouse - yes the gals have started laying even though it is so cold.

They don't sell white eggs here in New Zealand, that I've seen. (I did notice that right away). There is no difference in taste at all, just the shell color.

In India the brown eggs are considered country eggs richer in protein while a white egg is considered a broiler one. Frank;y I dont care as long as there are eggs :)

i sometimes buy brown eggs just because it's fun to have something a bit different, but i can't tell any difference in the taste.
I don't know about the difference in brown and white but I think fresh eggs can taste better than store bought ones.
I have never seen anything but brown eggs for years, that is all I ever see here or in the UK. Take care Diane
funny, my kiddos asked me to Google the same thing the other day. we looked at images only. in the province where i used to live,brown eggs come from native chicken and white eggs come from commercially grown chickens. that's all i know. :)

My guess as to the color of the egg would be what breed of chicken has laid them. Don't white chickens lay white eggs and brown chickens lay brown eggs? ;)

I am from the country to, I always loved to go and gather the eggs each day. I think it has to do with the bred of chicken. I am not a big egg eater anyway, so the color does not matter.
There is no difference other than the shell color. :-) But it is a good marketing ploy.
